We’re using the photo-sharing website Flickr to uncover local histories from across the state. You’re invited to join our Flickr group and share your own photos of historic Wisconsin people and places—farms, schools, neighborhoods, celebrations, family portraits, vacation spots—anything that helps tell the story of your personal Wisconsin past.
The specifics . . .
Photos should depict Wisconsin people or places, or otherwise have a specific Wisconsin connection.
Photos should be historic or vintage–created before the 1970s.
Please add as much information about the photo as you can–names, dates, stories. The more detail, the better!
Please don’t post anything that may violate copyright laws.

Help with scanning
Are you new to scanning historic photos? Do you want to make sure you’re creating the best possible digital versions of your family heirlooms before you share them on Flickr? Check out our tutorial for some quick tips on scanning your photographs.
Please note: Images added to our Flickr group will not be made available through the search engine on our website. If you represent a Wisconsin library, archive, museum or historical society, see Share a Collection to find out how your organization can partner with Recollection Wisconsin to contribute collections of photographs or other historical content to our search engine.
