Shall Not Be Recognized Oral History Project Interviews

In 2007, author Will Fellows collaborated with photographer Jeff Pearcy to create “Shall Not Be Recognized,” an exhibit of photographic and verbal portraits of thirty same-sex couples in long-term, committed relationships, all residents of the Milwaukee area.

Skare Collection

The Skare Collection at the McFarland Historical Society comprises over one thousand objects related to the Norwegian immigrant experience collected by Albert Skare of McFarland, Wisconsin. The digital collection provides access to selections from this extensive collection, focusing on household goods and folk art brought to Wisconsin by Norwegian immigrants in the 19th century.

Somos Latinas Project Oral Histories

The Somos Latinas (We Women) History Project (2012-2016) was created to document the many significant and largely hidden contributions of Latinas in Wisconsin engaged in their communities to positively impact society in K-12 and post-secondary education, civil rights, women’s rights, domestic abuse services, immigration reform, political representation, peace and justice, and other areas. The online collection currently includes 52 interviews from 37 Latinas from across Wisconsin.

South Central Wisconsin Local Histories

Publications documenting the early history of Adams, Columbia, Dane, Green, Portage, Sauk and Wood Counties and the communities of Albany, Belleville, Cambria, Cambridge, Columbus, Fitchburg, Madison, Monroe, Prairie du Sac, Reedsburg and Waunakee. Materials were contributed from the collections of South Central Library System member public libraries.

South Milwaukee Public Library

This collection showcases and preserves the history of South Milwaukee through digitized images, texts, and other media. The collection is a collaboration of resources held by both the library and the South Milwaukee Historical Society.

St. Norbert College Catalogs

College catalogs were published annually by St. Norbert College from 1902-1917. The catalog served as the college yearbook and also provided information on available courses, the academic calendar, admissions requirements and other school policies.
