Jeanette Gaffney Miller Collection, 1925-1930

Memorabilia from Jeanette Gaffney’s attendance at the Eau Claire State Normal School as part of the class of 1928. Gaffney was heavily involved in campus and student life, including the Young Women’s Christian Association, Pep Club, the Women’s Athletic Association, Student Council, Declamation for public speaking contests and theater productions.

McFarland Gold Star Mothers

McFarland residents Mrs. Ole (Mary Lyster) Nelson and Mrs. Theodore Edwards were among the Gold Star Mothers who made a U.S. government-sponsored pilgrimage to France in 1930. Both Nelson and Edwards lost sons during World War I. This collection includes a diary, scrapbooks, letters, photographs and ephemera from the voyage as well as letters and photos from Helmer Nelson and Alvin Edwards’ World War I service.

Menomonee Falls Public Library

The Maude Shunk Local History Room Archives, located in the Menomonee Falls Public Library, highlights and preserves the history of the Village of Menomonee Falls and now defunct Fussville through photographs, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, government documents, and postcards. The full collection is a collaboration of resources and contributions by both the library and the Menomonee Falls Historical Society and also includes private donations. There is a wide range of materials from the 1850s until present day. This online portion of the collection contains resources we feel are important areas of discovery including but not limited to people, industry, families, schools, churches and cultural events.

The Historic Menus digital collection includes a variety of menus from the Milwaukee area from the early twentieth century to the present.

Milwaukee Historic Trade Cards

Printed color trade cards distributed by Milwaukee businesses. This collection, housed in the Milwaukee Public Library’s Richard E. and Lucile Krug Rare Books Room, provides a snapshot of Milwaukee’s retail and service economy in the late 19th century.

Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design

Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design’s Guido Brink collection contains ephemera concerning the life and artwork of Midwest artist and educator Guido Peter Brink (1913-2002) in addition to the art collection endowed to the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design from his estate.

Wild Rose Historical Ephemera

This collection contains 9687 pages of Wild Rose Historical items that have been digitized to protect the originals and to make searching easier. Scrapbooks by the Wild Rose Women’s Club, The Rambling Rosies, Plays by Pearl Dopp, Wild Rose Home of the Original Music Man Scrapbook, and many typed family histories from families who helped settle or lived in Wild Rose.
