Travel Back in Time to Eastman

The R. W. Troxel Glass Plate Negative Collection, housed at UW-La Crosse Murphy Library, offers a glimpse into life around south western Wisconsin shortly after the turn of the century, especially Eastman, a village near the Mississippi in Crawford County. There’s just something so special about the delicacy of glass plate negatives and their ability to capture detail.Fun fact, silent film actress Barbara Bedford (born as Violet May Rose) was born in the Eastman/Prairie du Chien area.
