Seeking new content partners for spring and summer 2026 program

Calling for all Wisconsin libraries, museums and local history organizations to participate in the Recollection Wisconsin Digitization Initiative!

Hoping to digitize but need support scanning and creating metadata? We’re here to help! Recollection Wisconsin seeks new content partners/host sites to digitize local history collections starting in spring 2026. Trained graduate students will complete the work and will receive a stipend from us. Your historic collection will be publicly shared via Recollection Wisconsin. It’s a win-win!

Selected content partners/host sites will:

  • identify and organize a photo or paper-based collection in advance,
  • work with Recollection Wisconsin staff to develop a detailed project plan,
  • invite a staff member to serve as site supervisor and attend a  project launch meeting and in-person training event,
  • host a graduate student intern who will digitize the collection,
  • provide student staff with an orientation to their organization and collections, and general support throughout the semester,
  • receive scanning and metadata workflows to support future digitization projects,
  • have a scanner, computer and adequate workspace,
  • participate in training to upload materials to Recollection Wisconsin, and
  • receive an external hard drive for your organization’s digital preservation work.
