Kristin Briney

Kristin Briney Kristin Briney is the Data Services Librarian at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she advises researchers on data management plans and data best practices. She has a PhD in chemistry and a Master’s degree in library and information studies. Kristin is the author of the book Data Management for Researchers and blogs about how to manage research data at www.dataabinitio.com.


Amy Cooper Cary

Amy Cooper Cary Amy Cooper Cary is Head of Special Collections and University Archives at Marquette University’s Raynor Memorial Library. She was the Director of the Archival Studies program at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s School of Information Studies for seven years and continues to teach as an adjunct instructor in their program. Amy is active in the Society of American Archivists, the Midwest Archives Conference, and serves as the Reviews Editor for RBM: A Journal of Rare Books, Manuscripts, and Cultural Heritage.


Stacey Erdman

Stacey Erdman Stacey N. Erdman is the Digital Archivist at Beloit College. In this position, she has responsibility for the collection, appraisal, organization, preservation, management, and appropriate sharing of archival content deposited with the Beloit College Archives, with a focus on digital materials. She also presently serves several roles for the Digital POWRR Project. As the Communications & Communities Coordinator, she oversees all project outreach activities, including advertising and communicating with potential applicants, as well as to the cohort groups who attend the institutes. She also serves as a Consulting Instructor at all Institute events and helped construct all components of the current curriculum. She is the former Digital Collections Curator at Northern Illinois University and served as the Technical Coordinator on the first two Digital POWRR Project phases.


Jesse Henderson

Jesse Henderson is a Digital Services Librarian at the University of Wisconsin Digital Collections Center (UWDCC) where she manages the production of digital assets for the collections. She has been at UWDCC since late 2013. Previously she was the Visual Resources Curator at Colgate University from 2006 through 2013. At UWDCC Jesse manages a production team and the majority of projects that flow through their shop. She is responsible for working with stakeholders, upgrades and maintenance of reformatting equipment, as well as setting and implementing digitization standards. Additionally, her love of FileMaker Pro has helped to influence the way their team keeps track of projects as they flow through their shop, how handoffs are communicated, and how they gather statistics on tasks associated with digital production, which help to create cost estimates and production timelines. Jesse has an MLIS from McGill University (’06) and a BA in Art from the University of Iowa (’01).


Peter Shrake

Peter Shrake Peter Shrake is a lifelong resident of Wisconsin. He earned his master’s degree from UW-Eau Claire focusing on Indian/White relations in Wisconsin. He also earned a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin. Peter served as the Executive Director of the Sauk County Historical Museum for eight years. For three years he worked for the Library/Archives Division of the Wisconsin Historical Society as a reference archivist. Since 2011 he has been the archivist at Circus World Museum.

Peter has written numerous articles published in a variety of scholarly journals relating to Wisconsin or upper Midwest history and is also the author of the book The Silver Man: The Life and Times of Indian Agent John Kinzie published by the Wisconsin Historical Society Press. He lives in Baraboo with his wife Kim and his sons Ethan and Ben.


Heather Stecklein

Heather Stecklein Heather Stecklein is the Director of the UW-Stout Archives and Area Research center in Menomonie, Wisconsin. She has been at the UW-Stout since 2012 and previously served as Archivist at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Heather’s professional interests include contextualized learning with archival resources, long-term digital asset management, and augmented reality interpretation of historical resources. She was the 2018 recipient of the Barnard Outstanding Service Award.

Heather is looking forward to playing bass clarinet this summer with the Ludington Guard Band’s outdoor concert series. She shares her home with her husband, two daughters, two parakeets, and a fish named Rainbow.
