Katie Stilp, Appleton Public Library

Katie Stilp is the Local History Librarian at Appleton Public Library. Her duties include assisting patrons at the reference desk, offering genealogy and local history programming, and maintaining the Wisconsin Collection. She has a master’s in library and information studies from the UW-Madison and a bachelor’s degree in communication from the UW-Green Bay. Katie was born and raised in Green Bay (Go Pack Go!). In addition to cheering for the Packers, Katie enjoys reading, writing, doing genealogy, and spending time with her family and two dogs. She has been working on her genealogy since 2005 and published books for her each of her paternal grandparents, with books for her maternal grandparents in the works. Given her love of genealogy, she is especially passionate about making local history and genealogy documents more accessible through digitization efforts.


Bethany Huse, College of Menominee Nation/Menominee Public Library

Bethany Huse has worked at the College of Menominee Nation’s S. Verna Fowler Academic Library/Menominee Public Library since September 2016 as a Librarian. Prior to working at this library, she worked at a variety of places, notably as a paraprofessional at a middle school, a facilitator/tutor at Fox Valley Technical College, and as a Library Aide at Kimberly-Little Chute Public Library. Bethany graduated from UW-Madison in 2011 with a BA in English. Bethany attended Drexel University online from 2014-2016 and graduated with a Master of Library and Information Science, with concentrations in Digital Libraries and Archival Studies.


Laura Kayacan, Door County Library

A native of Wisconsin and a graduate of UW-Madison Library School, Laura Kayacan spent 25 years in Illinois raising children and working in libraries as a school library assistant, adult services librarian, reference librarian, and IT assistant. In 2008 she returned to her home state to become Adult Services Librarian at Door County Library in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. In addition to working at the reference desk, she assists library members with downloading eBooks, understanding technology, researching genealogy, and programming. Laura’s technology skills and a strong interest in local history resulted in the Door County Newspaper Archive, an online collection of newspapers printed in Door County between 1862 and 1979.


Jon Winter, Douglas County Historical Society

Jon Winter is the Business Manager for the Douglas County Historical Society in Superior. Jon is a lifelong resident of Douglas County with family roots in the County dating back to the early 1890s. He graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1985 and WITI in Superior in 1987 with an Associates Degree in Accounting.  While attending UW-Superior, Jon started Winter Systems Computers in late 1988 and continues to operate that business. Jon served as a member of the Douglas County Historical Society Board of Trustees from 2013 to 2018 serving include as President for 4 years and Treasurer for 2 years before being appointed as Business Manager on January 1st, 2019.  Jon has served as a member of the Superior Jaycees, Superior Rotary Club, Superior-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Lakeside Supervisor and Chairperson.


Robin Untz, Lake Mills Aztalan Historical Society

Robin Untz currently serves as the president of and curator for the Lake Mills Aztalan Historical Society (LMAHS), a position she’s held since 2013. She earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Museum Studies and Art History from Carroll University.

Robin is the founder and leader of the Lake Mills Preservation Guild, a recently formed sub-group of LMAHS, made up of community members with the mission to Preserve and Share the Unique Character of Lake Mills Historic Sites, Buildings and Heritage. Robin also serves as the Municipal Clerk for the Town of Lake Mills.


Colin McGinnis, McMillan Memorial Library / South Wood County Historical Corporation

Colin McGinnis is the Adult Services Manager at the McMillan Memorial Library in Wisconsin Rapids. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in English/Writing, and a Master of Library and Information Studies degree from the University of Alabama. Colin currently resides in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, among the pines. He and his wife care for a hyped-up dingo.

The McMillan Memorial Library is the municipal library of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin and serves southern Wood County. It is a member of the South Central Library System, which serves seven counties in Wisconsin. McMillan’s CCDC project is a partnership with the South Wood County Historical Corporation, also in Wisconsin Rapids.


Louise Pfotenhauer, Neville Public Museum of Brown County

Louise Pfotenhauer is the Collections Manager for the Neville Public Museum of Brown County in Green Bay.

The Neville is an accredited cultural institution that champions history, science, and art. Located in downtown Green Bay, Wisconsin, the museum is dedicated to the collection and preservation of significant objects relevant to Northeast Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The museum seeks to bridge these multi-generational regional communities through engaging exhibits and dynamic programming.


Briana Fiandt, Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center

Briana Fiandt is the Curator of Collections at the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center in Superior. She has her MLIS in Library Science from UW-Milwaukee. Previously, she worked as a Reference Librarian at Santa Fe Community College in Santa Fe, New Mexico and as the Reserves Coordinator at the UW-River Falls library.  She has over 10 years of experience in library and museum work.  

The mission of the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center is to preserve and honor the memory of Major Bong and all veterans of World War II as well as subsequent conflicts and to provide educational resources for the Twin Ports area community and beyond.


Kristin Arnold, Rock County Historical Society

Kristin Arnold joined the Rock County Historical Society staff in May 2017 as the archives manager, overseeing the projects and research conducted at the Charles Tallman Archives. She graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and German and completed her Master of Arts in Library and Information Studies with a special focus on archives at the University of Wisconsin-Madison this month! When she’s not rediscovering old photographs and exploring plat maps in the archives, she enjoys playing board games, going on bike rides with her husband, and listening to k-pop music.

Located in Janesville, Wisconsin, the Rock County Historical Society enriches and engages the communities of Rock County through preservation and dissemination of the unique history and heritage of the area.


Morgan Paavola, University of Wisconsin River Falls

Morgan Paavola is the Assistant Archivist and Records Manager at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. In June 2019, she celebrates her two-year anniversary in this position. She completed her MLIS degree at UW-Madison. Outside of work, Morgan enjoys being outdoors, hiking and kayaking or staying inside with a good book.

Located in River Falls, Wisconsin, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls serves students who are full-time and part-time, undergraduate, graduate, non-traditional, distance-education and non-degree-seeking.
